Hello

We've been using CRM for nearly two months now. Some of our clients are
on support contracts and we have no need to invoice them for time spent
on cases. Others aren't and we need to invoice them. We invoice outside
of CRM and all I need is a report that shows me the time spent on each
case so that I can raise an invoice.

No standard report that seems to show this.....hhhmmm.

So, after some Googling I gather I need Crystal Reports. I download and
install the trial of XI and it won't connect to the CRM with a message
"Access Denied. You cannot log onto an older version of the CMS".

I then try and load the Crystal Reports Enhanced Edition on the server
from CD4 and it tells me "You must first upgrade to Crystal Reports
9.2.2 to continue with this setup". The downloadable service packs and
upgrades specifically say they are not suitable for OEM or bundled versions.

I know this is probably two or three questions but I'm it's all for one
objective.

Any ideas appreciated.

(CRM1.2 SBS2003 Prem. All on one server)

Thanks

ok
you need crystal reports 9.2.2 and you need to install this on a workstation
NOT the crm web server.

Assuming you have a valid crystal license you can contact
businessobjects.com and they will give you a download location for 9.2.2.

once you have that install it on your workstation then install the crystal
addon that came with crm on top of your new crystal installation and you
have everything you need to create reports

John

I appreciate your replying.

I had installed the software on a client PC but I was trying to install
the addon onto the server - thanks!

Since posting my question I have found out that apparently CRM 3.0 will
not use Crystal for reporting but SQL Reporting. We will be upgrading to
V3.0 and I wonder whether purchasing Crystal Reports might not be worth
the outlay.

Having said that, I can't get "SQL Server Report Pack for Microsoft CRM
1.2" to install either. It gives me an "Object reference not set to an
instance of an object" error and then bails out of the installation. I
assume that I need to be installing this on the server?

ok if your upgrading to CRM v3 forget crystal

as you know CRM 3.0 has moved to SQL Reporting Services. As your moving to
CRM 3.0 you need to invest your time getting up to speed on SRS with CRM
