SQL error in HQ Admin File Configuration. |
|
|
Hi
I have installed HQ Administrator, HQ Manager onto client PC. The HQ
database has been set up int he server. In HQ Administrator, after I enter
the server, log in id , password and database. I encountered SQL error "Error
: 21472209999 Method '~' or object '~' failed (Source ADODB. coonection)"
when I click "Test Database Connection".
In HQ Administrator, if I click file -> Connect to same server and same
database -> succesfully connected with no error. However, if I try to run a
query such as "select * from item", the same error message as above will
apear.
Sometimes, another error meesage will appear "Error #3706, Provider not
found. It may not be properly isntalled. (Source : ADODB. Connection)", when
we try to test database connection.
We have tried unstalling RMs and rebooting the PC, but same errors appeared
each time we tried to "Test Database Connection".
We had no problems at all with another PC with the same specs.
Has anyone encountered this before? Would greatly appreciate some
enlightenment.
Thank you in advance

Sounds almost like MDAC isn't installed properly or something like that.

hi Jeff&Ozzie
Thanks for your help.
The MDAC was corrupted, once our client run repair from XP CD, the problem
was resolved.
