I just began using Money2005 Standard OEM (HP Notebook with WinXP Pro). I
set up my Mortgage Loan and associated my Condo as the asset. I can access
the associated asset account, but when I attempt to access the Mortgage Loan
account, Money gives me the error "Money has experienced and internal error
and needs to close...." message then reboots. I can't even delete the
account because any access to it starts the error all over again. I tried
everything to solve this. MS won't help for free because it's OEM. HP won't
help for free because it's 3rd Party. I reinstalled the software and the
account was gone. Instead of setting up my Mortgage again, I set up my Car
Loan. Same problem! Each time I attempt to access the Car Loan account, I
get the "internal error" apology and the program reboots. I checked
Knowledge Base and surveyed the support board, but haven't found a resolution
to this yet. Can anyone please assist with this?

I was hoping you had an older version, which would have called for a
known "treatment". If you had a Money disk, I would suggest
reinstalling. But you don't have that disk, I assume.

I guess I would test with a new file to distinguish whether the
problem is associated with the installation or the file.

An installation disk was provided with the computer purchase and I had
already reinstalled, but that didn't work. I reinstalled again and this
didn't work. However, I believe I have fixed the problem. I was frustrated
and was trying everything I could think of which led to creating the Asset
first, then associating the loan (instead of vise verse as I was doing). No
more error message when I access the accounts! I tried this with my
Mortgage/Condo and Car Loan/Jeep. No more crashes since then! I can't
explain it, but am happy that it works.
