Database size - MSCRM and SFO |

Hi,
Could someone please let me know what the maximum size of the offline SFO
database is? I d read somewhere that its 2 GB. Is there any way of changing
this?
Also, is there a maximum size for the MSCRM database and the approx number
of records that can fit in?

the only limit on the SQL server is really speed and hardware.
SQL Serve can scale up to terrabytes of storage if your systems can support
it.
In order to understand your storage requirements you need to analyse the
business including items such as number if users, usage patterns etc

The limit is NOT a SFO 1.2/CFO 3.0(CRM for Outlook) limit, it is a limit in
MSDE. There is no way to change it.

3.0 continues to use MSDE with its 2GB limit. The new version of MSDE, SQL
Server 2005 Express, enables 4GB (its a licensing rather than technology
limitation), but we're not using it for 3.0.

Do your users really need access to more than 2GB of data while offline?
That is a huge amount of data and will require a lot of synch processing
that will make the process of going offline potentially quite long. I would
think through this more as I doubt most of your users would need that much
data.
