Total foolishness. Fact: you cannot stop someone from attacking you, if
they intent to attack you. You can only minimize the number of attacks, but
there is no defensive system devised by man, that a smarter offense cannot
overcome.

What's wrong in Palestine? Tell GW before he spends $B or $T on
antimissile defense.

What is wrong with Palestine, and what has that got to do with what we are |
talking about? As for the antimissile defense system, do you know enough
about what the program is trying to accomplish to know with any degree of
certainty that it will not work? What are you going to have to say, if
North Korea sends a couple of ICBM's heading toward the US? What are you
going to do, throw spit balls at it? |

Jerry - excellent response to Jean, who stated some mysterious thoughts
about anti-missile defense and the connection with Palestine????
They are two separate topics - and, like you, I agree and hope that we
willk indeed, invest in anti-missile defense, since it is a very real
threat to us HERE.

Jean - - what is the connection between your question:"What is wrong in
Palestine?? Before GW spends another billion on missile defense." What
does one have to do with the other?? Anti-missile defense, in my view,
is well worth investing in - but in no way relates to the problem with
the Palestinians.

Hey, someone said that defense's are always overcome. I was providing
some examples. There is science supporting that opinion.

Hey, someone said that defense's are always overcome. I was providing

I said that a any defense can be overcome by a better offense. That does |
not mean you should not try to "defend" yourself. Think of it this way.
Without a missile defense shield, just about everything they throw at you
will do an awful lot of damage. On the other hand, if you do have a ability
to knock out some or all of the ICBM's headed your way, that will result in
less damage, then if you had no defense shield at all. It also preserves
more of your assets to launch a counter attack. Which any adversary should
be concerned about, because if they are not able to knock out every nuclear
capability you have, then they have to anticipate that your country is also
going to be hit, and hit hard. Especially, if you do not have the means to
knock down the ICBM's headed your way. |
