Default option spread investing.

I am wndering if others here have any experience with options analysis software or sites. The two I have seen or heard a lot about are option monitor and optionvue. Is the bang to hype ratio out of whack here? Others to recommend?

iVolatility.com is a great site. I checked out their pay site (free trial) and thought it was pretty good. Reasonably good value for the subscription price.

PTI Securities is a good company -- Jon Najarian is a partner there. But I believe the option seminars are actually given the CBOE, and are pretty basic.

I would check out thinkorswim -- their trading platform has some pretty sophisticated analysis and scanning/screening tools for the retail trader. http://www.thinkorswim.com

If you're looking for more advanced seminars, I'd also suggest taking a look at Option Planet - thinkorswim's educational affiliate. Their "Beyond the Basics" seminar is also free, and blew away every free CBOE seminar I've taken... with all due respect to Alex Jacobson, who I think is terrific! It's just that you can only do so much in 2-3 hours vs. a full-day seminar (and it also helps when the attendees are at about the same level of options knowledge). http://optionplanet.com

Naked -- are you in any way employed or affiliated with Thinkorswim? Beyond being a client?

r/a, I am not an employee of thinkorswim or Option Planet. ToS are my brokers, I like what they are doing in terms of changing the industry, and I don't mind posting the reasons why I like them.

p.s. Should I ask you in turn if you are in any way employed or affiliated with Interactive Brokers? :)

I am an analyst for www.SplitMaster.com which deals mostly with stock splits and their options. We are doing credit spreads, too. Go to Past Results on the site and then click on Options and you can see every one of our plays, win or lose. Check out the other pages, too, if it is of interest. (Options don't show the spreads as we are beta testing, but our option results have been pretty good)--Lots of free info on site.

We just tested Pattern/Period stocks--TGT, COST and WMT from 10/1 thru 10/31
Our goals were different on each--going for "X" points on each stock--options out when the target price on stock is hit.

TGT goal was 3.5 points or 10/31---made the 3.5 points on 10/19
COST goal was 5 points or 10/31--made 5 on 10/20
WMT goal was 3.5 points, made 3.16 on 10/31

Currently BBY from 11/1 thru 11/30, stock 43.98, Dec. 42.50 call at 3.40-going for 6 points.
EBAY looking good from 10/10 thru 12/31.--Looking for over 12 points or 12/31.
CAT 11/1 thru 12/31 at stock price 52.60, Jan. 50 call was 4.90/5.10 this morning,
with stock at 53.29. Looking for 10 points or Dec. 31, whichever is first.
AET--Looking at it--might be a play 11/1 thru 12/31, but no decision yet--could be 10 pts.

If anyone knows of a 30-60 day pattern stock, winning for every year starting in 2001, please let me know.

Isn't options analysis is all about personal skill? I think depending on software is not a good idea software gives answer as they are prepared they can't analyse off the book which you can so do by your self.
