after selecting the change button after a transaction has been mapped via a
download from my bank, it often takes at least a minute before the Change
Transaction Mapping screen comes up. Is this a common problem? It is realy
wasting a lot of my time when I have to change the mapping of a transaction.
Any Ideas?

Thanks,
David

The solution might be in archiving your file, so Money would have less
transactions to consider when deciding which to show as potential matches.
But archiving has its own issues, make sure you review faq, make reserve
copy, etc., etc.

If you would like to experiment, here are some ideas.

Make a copy of your Money file (with Windows Explorer) under a new
filename. Perhaps call it DavidX.mny. Remove its passport, if any.
Set the experimental file to not backup automatically on closing
with Tools->Options/Setting->Backup.

After each step, try something that causes a delay to see if there
is an effect.

Move all accounts out of your budget.

Delete any old loans.

If your version has it, turn off the various
Tools->Options->Feedback->(PersonalizedFeedback)Options

Consider pruning items from the bills and deposits list.

Consider disabling online access temporarily. I can do that (my
connection goes thru a home router) with
Start->Programs->Settings->LocalAreaConnection->Disable, and I can
reenable with Start->Programs->Settings->LocalAreaConnection but
sometimes it takes
Start->Programs->Settings->LocalAreaConnection->Support->Repair
(does DHCP renew). Your connection may differ.

Also see http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=4

Note you can switch readily between the normal Money file and your
experimental version with the File menu. The last 4 most recently
used files will be listed down there. Don't forget to remove the
Passport (if any) and to set the experimental file to not overwrite
your backup file before making other changes. Let us know what you
find out.
