I added an ip address to my CRM server and now the CRM Sercurity Service will
not start. I changed the ip address back to the way it was and still no luck.

This is the error I get when I try to manually start the service.

The Microsoft CRM Security Service service failed to start due to the
following error: The service did not respond to the start or control request
in a timely fashion.

When I try to log into CRM I get the following error:
Service not running.
The Microsoft CRM server or security service has been disabled or has not
yet started. For more information, contact your system administrator.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I dont think the issue is due the changes in IP Address. If you change IP
Address of the CRM Website you would see errors logging into CRM , you would
see 401 errors.

To find out where the issue is .

1. Check if you are able to start the MSSQLSERVER Service. MSCRM Security
Service depends on this service. MSCRM Security Service will fail if
MSSQLSERVER service is not started.

2. If there is issue starting the MSSQLSERVER service , then go the
Properties of the Service , see what is the "Log on" , is the Local System
Account or "This Account", it dosent matter , as long as the MSSQSQLSERVER
has got a valid account and password it will start.

MAke sure that no one has changed the Passwor of the SQL server or has one
moved the SQL Server to another location. Just find out what the issue in
regards to the SQL , it will help to narrow down the issue.

1. Did you change

What if you re-joined the domain, i.e. removed server and rejoined the server from the domain due to Active Directory issues?

How do you fix this issue then?
