Q2006 / Mac hangs on launch |
|
|
I have used Quicken on the Mac since the late 80's. Last month I updated
to Q2006. I paid bills on 10/31 with no problem.
Friday (11/11) I tried to update my stocks. When complete, Q told me my
portfolio had dropped by half in value. Looking a bit closer, I found
that Intel now has no price data. Neither do any of my Fidelity funds.
Tried to download data again, thinking it might be a glitch, but same
results. Figured I would try again Monday, in case there was a problem
at the other end (but then all my historical prices should not have
disappeared...?)
Tried to launch it tonight to enter a deposit, and now Q hangs on
launching. I finally have to force-quit it.
Any way to recover that data? It's got my data back to 1988. I've got
backups, but not current enough.
Of course, to add insult to injury, I upgraded Retrospect recently,
which I use to backup all 4 computers on my home network. Went to
retrieve the data file from last week's backup... and the file is
missing? Everything else is there, but not that file. Must have been
something wrong even then.
I then went to the backup from the prior week, and discovered I goofed
in creating the new script and hadn't noticed it. This computer was not
being backed up on alternate sets for the past couple months... :-(
