Deleting a batch... |
|
|
I have just upgraded from QS2000.... I have redesigned my taxes to base
them on the customers Custom text 1 field... (aka County)
We tendered a transaction on a customer that was using an older tax
schedule, we changed the customer record to use the new tax record... when
we voided the tax record... It credited the new tax category instead of the
one that was originally charged... I tried to switch the customer back to
So I ran a sale and void in the reverse order, hoping the sale would offset
the last void, and the new void would offset the first sale... but it didnt'
work... We now have an X report that shows taxes that shouldn't be there...
The obvious choice is the Z (close) the batch, and then delete the batch...
But there doesn't seem to be any way to do this... And now all my tax
reports are off, and will be for the year...
I wanted to find out how to delete (purge) a batch (one not posted yet
either)
If I can't, I would like to know how to open the sql database and remove the
entries, One way or another I need to wipe this one batch out completely...
I considered deleting transactions... But then I loose all of my customers
history... why on gods green earth would there be an option to loose all
history but not delete selective history??? I blame public schooling...
I could delete the history and then re-import from the old QS2000 so I would
have history again... but that would overwrite all of the tax schedules I
have built under this new version not to mention the value added to the
custom text 1 (aka County) field of 2000+ customers...
Why can we not import history only... Why can't we open a backup that was
made a few days ago and select which tables(elements) to import... I'm not
sure where the "all or none" mentality comes from... but I can say that it
is extreamly disappointing...
If nothing else how do users learn to operate and/or make mistakes to learn
from without impacting the real financial reporting capablilities of this
product???
ULTIMATELY I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO PURGE A BATCH (LAST BATCH)
without loosing any other history... or jepardizing my customers, Inventory
and other essential items, in an effort to maintain accurate reporting...
