Hi..

Don't know if there is an faq covering this..if so could you direct me?

If not, I am using Q H&B Premiere 2004. I'd like to install the 2006
version of the program. Should I uninstall? Install over top..could someone
give me the info on this procedure?

Thanks,

kristin

Real easy... 2006 will (automatically) uninstall 2004, before it installs.

Be sure to keep a copy of your 2004 data files, in a separate location,
just in case things go awry!

Which I think Q2006 will create for you the first time you run it. I have
some Q02files and Q04files that were created by the Q2004 and Q2006
installers.

I'm not talking about "just a backup," but, rather, a separate copy,
on a floppy, external hard drive, etc.

Thank you very much for the response!
One more thing...does the eula allow
the user to install a 2nd copy on a laptop?

Others have answered your question. I would just like to
suggest you consider, while still in Q2004, making a Quicken
"copy" of your data, and super-Validating that copy, then having
Q2006 convert that copied/validated fileset. Keep both the
pre-copy/validate fileset and the post-copy/validate fileset (as
noted by others, Quicken will backup the file it converts before
converting it ... making your own backup is just some extra
insurance).

Just like Validate, but hold down CTRL+SHIIF from just before
clicking Validate until you see the super-validating message.

(And yes, you can install a second version of Quicken on another
compter).
