I bought Money 2005 last February and used it just fine, on my home computer
and my work laptop, up until about 2 weeks ago when I downloaded the trial
version of 2006 on my home computer. (I left the 2005 version on my work
laptop). I decided to purchase the full version and I upgraded, first my
laptop. This went fine.

Now, on my home computer, I had the 2005 version and 2006 trial running
simultaneously. I then tried to run the 2006 install and it told me that the
version I was installing was older than the version I currently had on my
computer. So, I uninstalled the 2006 trial. I ran setup again and it
properly told me that I should remove the 2005 version, which the installaton
program did for me. The install went fine, but I noticed one problem - the
dropdown menu for online updates (next to the help icon) does not work.

Attempting to fix this myself, I completely uninstalled Money 2006, which
was the only version on my computer then. I did a search for 'Money' on my
hard drive (because I know software leaves stuff behind after
uninstallations) and removed anything related to Microsoft Money. I then
reinstalled the software and have the same problem!

Does anyone know what might be causing this or some possible remedy? After
I figure out that problem, I'll also be creating a backup on my work laptop
and then put that backup onto my home computer, so the transactions will have
the most up to date categories and whatnot. What are the steps for this
procedure so I don't mess that up?

Thanks!
