Goldmine to CRM |
|
|
Hello,
For a client we want to migrate Goldmine to MSCRM. Does anyone know if there
is somekind of step-by-step procedure for this? I've looked at the
datamigration framework but the explanation in this documents are not
satisfying to me.What i would like is some Best-practises documentation.
Hope someone can help.

for one of migrations you can also look to either write your own code or use
the tools from www.scribesoft.com.
if the user has a large amount of data it may be worth the cost

I used to work at GoldMine (FrontRange) and am somewhat familiar with their
data structure. The difficulty in migrating data from GM to MSCRM is that
GM's table structure is difficult to understand. That is because GM was
originally developed before email addresses were commonplace. Instead of
extending their Contact table they added to 2 new tables to accomodate new
fields. (I cannot remember their names). You will need to join the tables
together.
I did a GM to MSCRM migration for a client and that was the only issue that
I ran into that wasnt clear in the Data Migration Framework guide.

Hi
We did a migration with migration framework. It was't deisigned that well
for GM, so it took alot of time, and the outcome was't that well.
We now use ImportManager from www.crmextensions.com for all data migration,
it is very easy to use and you can make templates for importing, so you save
alot of time. It also take cares of duplicates. and best of all, it is very
cheap :-)
