Was wanting some opinions. Do you think that they are just price
gouging and killing the American Automobile industry or do you think
that it is white collar crooks and what not driving GM, Delphi and Ford
into bankrupcy. Was wanting to get some opinions ?

**** Disclaimer do not say Bush and Karl Rove are killing the
automobile industry because they have a war in Iraq please.

Opinion...I think it is some of both..Upper managerial crooks (often 'turks'
who believe that they can do nothing wrong, or at least wont get caught)
are an issue in some companies, incompetent managers in others, can
deal death blows to companies which should be successful.

And, union agreements can put burdens on a company's bottom line that
are excessive.

Failure to manufacture a top quality, dependable and attractive product
is a problem that goes top to bottom.

Most company problems are directly senior management problems who
couldn't competently run a newspaper stand.

As to GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, they all operate in
the same arena. Survival of the fittest. The auto is a mature
product. Mostly interchangeable. A commodity. An oligopoly.

Where oh where is Packard, Crosley, Studebaker, Nash, Desoto, Hudson,
.... ? Unions get them all? I am not a union lover. I hate most of
them as they are mostly low life forms.

You couldn't have said it better! Also consider the obscene compensations
for incompetence rendered. Same goes for countries at large. It's a
racket!

No va was an Hispanic joke in the US, nothing more.

Supposedly other auto names were embarrassing and thus the trend today
is to non-words for new auto names. eg what is a Sentra? Camery?
Jerkbus?

Two little words that sum the concept up perfectly: You Go.
