Hello --

Can anyone tell me how to write an ACCNT line in an IIF file for import so
that an beginning balance amount (OBAMOUNT ?) will be entered for the
account, as of a specific date (TIMESTAMP ?).

The following lines do not do that.

!ACCNT NAME REFNUM TIMESTAMP ACCNTTYPE OBAMOUNT DESC ACCNUM SCD BANKNUM
EXTRA HIDDEN DELCOUNT USEID WKPAPERREF

ACCNT Cash:Bank of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 5 1130953965 BANK 108264.12 100198 0
N 0 N
ACCNT Cash:Bank of yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy 5 0930000000 BANK 108264.12 100199 0

Thanks for any help.

Use a Journal Entry IIF to add the beginning balances. Use Invoice and Bill
if you want to enter opening balances by customer and vendor.

Karl --

Thanks.

Can you tell me where to learn how to create a Journal Entry IIF?
QB Help and Support shows me nothing.

I should have stated that the opening balances are for Balance Sheet
accounts.
Can you direct me to information about creating an IIF to do that?

I don't believe you can put in an opening balance via an IIF file. There are
some definite limitations to the process.
