Hello --

Is it possible for a user to use QB over the web (with GoToMyPC or
equivalent) to make entries into the system?

I will appreciate any information about this.

Thanks in advance.

Yes. I use GoToMyPc, others prefer Windows Terminal Services or XP
Remote Desktop.

You should take a serious look at GoToMyPC. I believe they have a trial
offer. You would find that using that product situates you the same as if
you were sitting right in front of your PC. You see the same desktop and
consequently can run all the same programs, check your email, same as if you
were physically there. And, you can use it from any PC that has internet
access. When I am traveling, I can go into any internet cafe and access my
office system. No software is needed, just a PC with internet access.

I had never heard of that one, but it does look interesting. I have no means
of knowing whether it is reliable. I have used gotomypc hundreds of times
and never had a problem. Also, I note that the free version of logmein
cannot be used to transfer files, which I do all the time. For that, you
need logmein pro, which is priced similar to gotomypc. Nonetheless, if you
just need to access your PC remotely and have no need to transfer files,
logmein might be adequate, and you certainly cannot beat the price. (Note:
gotomypc lets you generate throwaway 'one time' passwords that you can use
at public computers, so even a keystroke logger would not compromise your
security. I did not look to see if any version of logmein has that ability.)

Thanks, none and Z Man --

Using the free LogMeIn I tried a file transfer from the host machine to my
local machine and it worked.

Send the file as an attachement to a Gmail email?

Note, that file transfer requires LogMeIn Pro, and while free for the first
30 days, is a paid service, around $70.00 per year. The free version just
allows remote desktop.

Thanks.

I understand that sending files with the free version only lasts for 30
days.

The files are likely to be large, so an email attachment might not work,
unless gmail can carry a large attachment.

I will check out dropload.com.

Don't recall you stating you wanted to transfer files, just enter
transactions. So if you want to transfer files you can then use
dropload.com for that along with logmein.

Try them and see if they work for you.
