I have been using Money2005 for several months with no problems at
all. I downloaded the defective patch from Microsoft, and ended up
having to reinstall everything. I reinstalled Money, and installed the
mny file from my backup. But now, I cannot seem to get money to use
the Canadian banks that I use - only presents list of American banks.
Presumably I did something wrong with the reinstall, but I am not sure
what. If I have to reinstall again, what do I change?
Thanks,
Barry

Thanks Cal,
Apparently I am set up to use US settings - the change corrected.
Thanks again,

Barry

That Decline occurs when Money 2005 asks if you want to put a
Passport onto the file, and before you enter your Passport. However
it turns out that you did not need that however.

My
version number, prior to the disaster, and subsequent to it,
was*.1105, so the version has not changed, but my available banks has.

OK. Then that shows the other thing was not needed.

Money Standard (14.0.80.1105) will look at your regional settings in
Windows to determine if it is to work in Canadian mode or US mode.
Your Canadian Money 2005 should be 14.0.80.1105 and not
14.0.120.1105.

Let Money 2005 create a new Money file, clicking Decline in the
process. It will do an update. Close Money. Then open Money and
check that Help->About... says you then have version 14.0.*.1105.

Then you should be able to open or restore your existing files.

But now, I cannot seem to get money to use
the Canadian banks that I use - only presents list of American banks.
Presumably I did something wrong with the reinstall, but I am not sure

Wait a second, I have everything right, the regional setting in control
panel is English Canada, and Canadian dollar is set as base currency. I
still don't see Royal bank of Canada listed in money 2005, why?

Are you running the US version or the Canadian version?

I wish I knew how and I could tell you. I suspect there are different
numbers in the 3rd group of the Help|About version ID. (e.g., 14.0.xxx.1105)
Where'd you buy it?

Hopefully somebody with the Canadian edition can pipe in here. US Deluxe is
14.0.120.xxxx.

I have been all through this with Microsoft support. I can neither get
TDCanada trust or BMO on Money 95, because:

"From your message, I noticed that you still have some concerns about
this issue for it only occurs after reinstalling the Money program. I
would like to explain that since the Financial Institution withdraw
their service in the midway, normally, for the original users who has
already set up Online Service of this account in Microsoft Money
2005, they will continue to provide the service. However, they do not
provide the Online Service for the new users. That's why you can
continue to use the Online Version but when trying to re-set up it
after reinstalling the Money program, the banks are not listed. Thank
you very much for your understanding on this issue. "

I hope that helps - I now just download from my browser, and the
program imports the download.

Barry
