I'd like to checkout MoneyDance, but the thought of having to reenter (and
classify) a year or two's data is daunting. Is there a simpler way to
convert a quicken QIF or QFX file into something which can be read by
another program, without having to wade through it in a text editor?

Moneydance supports both QIF imports and QFX downloads.

Oh darn. Now I'm going to have to mess with moneydance :-) "Oh no,
off to the briar patch!"

Now to see how to get MoneyDance to import classifications and
subclasses "correctly" (So that all the grocery:Pop, and
Grocery:FrozenFood, and others get properly sorted, and I don't have to try
and reconstruct lost ancient receipts.)

I'm also starting to wonder about reintegrating all those archive
files, the ones where I chopped off the previous year or two's data, and
used the "new" file.
