Accounts stuck on "update in progress" - Mine finally works! |
|
|
It took about 12 hours on the phone, about 3 or 4 hours with Microsoft, and the rest with various
Chase bank techs. It shouldn't have taken that long, but every time I called and got a new person,
they had me go over all the stupid steps again - disable online service, re-enable online service, try
to login on to the Chase website, blah blah blah. Then they'd tell me to call Microsoft, which I
already had.
I kept telling them that it was a problem with THEIR data, because all my other accounts would update,
but not if I included Chase in the list to get updated. Then none of them would update.
About 5 days after my first call, one of them called me back with a working solution - and guess what,
it WAS their data's fault. One of my online payees that was only on the Chase.com website, NOT in MS
Money, had the address on the second line instead of on the first (his words, not sure what he was
talking about specifically), and that was causing all the problems. He didn't tell me which one it
was, they had just fixed it. I haven't had a problem since.

Glad you were able to get your updates working. Persistence does pay off
:)
I'm filing this one away in case I ever have a similar problem.

Your post just saved me a ton of time. My chase account names got imported |
into Money 2006, but th transactions refused to come over. I logged into my
chase account and checked my payees. One of them had a blank field in the
address line 1. I copied the address from line 2 and put it in line 1 and
that solved the problem. On my next attempt I got all the data. I'm sorry
that you had to spend all those hours, but that is indeed the fix for the
chase "update in progress". I wonder if Microsoft can fix it on their end so
that it can tolerate a blank address line 1.
