Some stupid newbie questions |
|
|
OK so maybe not a real newbie, I used Qucken 6 for a long time, I am trying
to Run Quicken Permier 2005 on Windows 98 SE. Is this supposed to be
supported?
I can't run Quicken in anything but full screen mode. When I click on the
"restore" buton (the one in the upper right corner between the X (close) and
_ (minimize) buttons it just sits there in full screen.
How do I get Qucken to come to the forground? When I click on Quicken on my
task bar nothing happens, I have to minimize all other applications to get
to it.
TIA

I have had this same problem from time to time with Q2004D on WinME. A
reboot will usually aleviate the problem for awhile.

I seem to recall that one poster mentioned that Alt-F4 closed some open
accounts and that that improved the ability of Quicken to function. I
must admit, when I tried Alt-F4, it closed all of Quicken.

I think this is almost certainly the old, oft discussed, system
resource problem: too many apps running and/or too many Quicken
features open. Windows has lost track of where the Quicken
window is. "Restore" the Quicken window (forget whether you can
see it to know it is restored). Then right-click the Quicken
task bar icon and click "Move". Use the arrow keys to move the
Quicken window from off of your screen until it is on your
screen ... look closely, it will be very small. Once it is
visible, you should be able to drag it to size.
Upgrade to Windows XP to virtually insure this problem does not
reappear.

I believe it is possible for a window in the "resore" state to be full
screen. When it is, there is little or no discernable movement when
you toggle it to and from the maximized state.
Try setting to restore state, then dragging one edge or another
inward....
Hope that works....
