QB 05: auto inactive customers and customer credit issue |
|
|
Why would my customers automatically be marked inactive after a period of time? I don't want them to become inactive unless I mark them as such.
Also, when I create credit memos (after customer overpayment), I am not prompted at the invoice creation screen to apply the credit later on.
Any suggestions for the two issues above?
Thanks.

QuickBooks does not mark customers inactive after a period of time.
QuickBooks does not mark customers inactive ever unless you manually click
on "Make Inactive". Is it possible someone else is updating the data file,
or that somehow you marked those customer inactive inadvertantly? Short of
data corruption or some sort or import/export weirdness in the data file (if
you import in customer:job lists) nothing would cause this short of manual
intervention. I haven't ever personally seen data corruption or import
issues cause something like this ... but ... if you say you didn't change
them and no one else changed them these are the only two other
possibilities.

What version of QuickBooks are you in? I'm not sure I understand your
workflow. Taking a payment, creating a credit memo, entering in an invoice
....these are all very different parts of the program. What exactly are you
doing?, ...step by step. |
