Let's hope not. I have leftovers in the 'fridge.
Ba-da-bing!

Yes, if you had an extension to 10/15, filing on 10/17 is
timely.

Kinda late to ask, eh? Oct 15 is NOT a holiday, it is a
Saturday. The return is due on the first business day after,
which is Monday, Oct 17. Going to sleep better tonight?

Yes. This is always the case when a due date falls on
Saturday, Sunday or a national holiday.

October 15, 2005 isn't a holiday - but as a WEEKEND day, it
follows the same rule: The next business day. The 17th is
your deadline.

Yes, anytime the due date lands on a weekend or holiday, the
due dates goes forward to the next business day, this year
that is Oct. 17th.

Or a local holiday that is honored by the IRS campus.

Like when Patriots Day occurs on April 15 and the Andover MA
Campus is closed. Any returns due to be filed at Andover
are pushed off to the next business day.

Unless it has changed, the due date is extended when it
falls on a holiday in the District of Columbia also.

Or state holiday: taxes have been due a day later in MA due
to Patriots Day.

An interesting aside on this point. As others have pointed
out, various state and local holidays can also extend the
due date.

Here in Thailand the annual Songkhran holiday always occurs
over the 15th. It is a 3 to 5 day holiday (depending on the
day of the week) and the post office is closed. This means
that, for residents of Thailand, the due date is always at
least the 18th.

Actually the reason is not that the Andover-Campus is closed
(it's not), but that the Taxpayers located in Massachusetts
can not receive appropriate information & advice from
Massachusetts Department of Revenue on that day & can not
complete an ~Accurate~ Federal Tax return due to the STATE
holiday.

For this reason, Massachusetts, and any other tax payers who
are required to file their return at Andover-Campus enjoy
the benefit of the delayed filing date.
