Default Penny Backing lower your credit score?

I read this awesome book a while ago that helped me raise my score almost 80 points since the end of June. Though the information was definately helpful...there was a suggestion the book made that i think may lower my score. The author talked about piggy backing on credit cards to raise my score. I piggy backed on my father who has pretty good credit card accounts but I here that this will no longer be available. and that it will lower my score starting on the first of september. Is there any way I can avoid this drop in my credit score?

Default Credit Score

It will not hurt your credit score to have additional lines of revolving credit, but of course it will hurt both you and your father's scores if either one of you starts missing payments.

I've mentioned this on other posts, but I am giving away a limited number of free books on credit repair and improving your score. It is free, no strings attached.

That is a very nice option to keep your score. But have considered talking to any professionals, for providing help? There are some organizations that deal with this sort of situation. So, that you can cut out clean.

Borrow credit: By becoming an "authorized user" of someone's credit card, you can in effect borrow someone's credit history. Find a friend or family member that is willing to contact their credit card company and make you an authorized user. Of course, make sure to pick a person with a good credit history on that particular card. If the person who is allowing you to be an authorized user is less than enthusiastic about the arrangement, you can give him the credit card when you receive it. In other words, for this system to improve your credit, you really do not have to do anything except piggy-back on the other person's past and continued good payment history. The most obvious danger here is if the person starts to neglect paying his account.

It's not going to hurt your score to piggy back with someone who has a good score.
